Just a thought if anyone is interested I would be happy to organise.

Ideas welcome if people are willing to give it a go eg what goodies, price, contents.

what a good idea.

We should set a limit to no more than £5 though.

Yes £5 sounds like a reasonable figure there are plenty of goodies on offer in the shops to get something worthwhile with that amount.

Any one up for it then?

PM me if you are.

I think if enough are interested then we should set a cut off date for people to join in to give sufficient time to sort out buying and distributing goodies, how about sunday 18th november or is that too early to even think about chrimbo???

i think it sounds like a nice idea. i'm in. ;D

Georgie

I think it's a good idea too.  I assume we are talking gardening related stuff?  I agree with a cap and £5 doesn't sound unreasonable but how about all participants agree to give summat to Dan to help with the admin?  A quid each?

Count me in also please. How about £5 max  postage extra.  seems fair to me.  What a great idea.

For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.

fantastic, looks like there is plenty of interest.  ;D

I will contact you all by personal message to get your details to put into the hat on 19th November to draw out who your details will be passed onto. I will then send you all personal messages with details of who you're buying a present for around this date.

Please ensure that once you have the details you keep them secret, I know it sounds obvious but when I organised last year at my workplace everybody knew who was buying their present and most of the staff were putting orders in for santa.

Regarding costs, maybe limit should no more than £8 for combined cost of present and postage.

If people are interested in a making donation to the site I would be happy for you to post onto me and I will make a joint donation through my paypal account from the secret santa swap.

I suppose the present could just be based on "gardening theme" or you could give me a clue of your other interests to pass onto your secret santa.

thanks

i wonder whether it would be worthwhile those interested posting a few ideas of what they would like to receive because we dont know everyone what they like etc then when you allocate whos buying for who then we can go on and have a look at what they would like, im only talking generic ideas ie gardening, books, music, etc etc

sarah

or we could try and stick with a gardening theme to make things easier?

caroline7758

Personally, I think it spoils it if you give people ideas of what you'd like! I don't think anyone will expect the gift to be tailor-made for them, it's the surprise that's the fun bit!And if anyone does want to choose something to fit the person, a bit of detective work by reading some of their posts might be fun, too!
