Sorry this was not a facetious reply - you can grow it and they like the heads.

BROCCOLI'S the first 1 that springs to mind if you have chickweed on your
plot they love that too I once even planted canary seed and the resulting
heads were devoured with a vengence........ I am assumming you know
you can buy soak seed too which you can sprout and feed that as well and
if you have apples they love em...........need to de core of course sprouts
are liked too.... thats more than enough from me.............what kind are they.....??

  Norwich,Borders,Fifes,Glosters or lizards.........??

Jaggythistle
I only have Borders now,l used to have a Roller which sang beautifully, unfortunately not with me anymore, but he must have been 15 or 16 yrs at least before he died
.
Back to the food,l found tiny plants growing on the ground underneath the garden bird house which l found out later was my Canary seed which had sprouted,l also found out my hubby was feeding the wild birds with it   :o >:( :D l gave some of the tiny plants to my birds and they didn't like that either  >:( l will have to check out the chickweed, can't remember what it looks like,l'm sure l used to give them that years ago and then noticed a similar looking weed and got worried l might be giving them the wrong stuff and gave up.
I've never seen the soak seed in the pet shops or the pet bit of the garden centres  ???

Just remembered that as a kid our budgies and canaries all really liked fresh groundsel.

I can send you some if you want  ;D
