The Spooky Tree
« on: August 07, 2005, 23:06:07 »
This gorgeous tree is at the back of my garden.  Friends and family have dubbed it the "spooky tree" or the "wiggly tree" because of it's appearance.

I have one in a pot by the front door. People frequently tell me that it need water because the leaves are all curled up!

Cool  8) My cat is called Spooky and I could well imagine her having a home in that tree.  She wouldn't hurt it though, she's teeny tiny  :)

Lovely photograph Mary. I have two small contorted hazels myself in the back garden.  I moved them from the front because people were actually coming to my door and asking why I neglected them, because of their crumpled leaves, when the rest of my garden was so lovely!!!   :o Now I can enjoy them without all the hassle.  ;D

Just transplanted mine from a pot in the back garden to my allotment, for some reason it's always covered in hornets ???

Fantastic Rosebud! I've a couple of contorted hazels - one in the ground and the other in a pot. Both are lovely, but best in winter in my opinion!

I've just read in Gardening Which that you can now get a red leaved contorted hazel. I reckon that would be something!
