I sowd a variety called Bordeaux and its coming through to my shock with red stems. It looks a bit like beetroot coming through is this right or has my seeds blow everywhere?
If it is I suppose I treat as green spinach and can eat young uncooked and cooked.

I only grow perpetual spinach, which is a leaf beet, so yes if you got it wrong you could still eat it, Chards are similar but bred for more colourful stems!

Bordeaux grows really well for me too, and it's a beautiful sight. I sow at 3" spacing, then pull whole plants as they grow and eat the thinnings. If planted in September, it provides tender greens throughout the winter and early Spring :D
