How do I store main crop tatties?
« on: August 21, 2007, 16:34:57 »
:) now I know I have to dry them out before bagging ( brown paper or Hessian) but do I wash them first, or just remove as much mud as I can by hand?

then separate the ones that have to be eaten first, that won't store, for damage or any other reason....yes ? :-\

I dont wash them Wilko, just rub off what you can so you can spot any damage, I use gloves with the nobbly bits on the palms then as you said dry and store in the sacks out of the light.   ;D ;D ;D

Use a cool place if you can ... the garage perhaps???  Mine sprouted last year because I did not keep them cool enough  :-X

Store spuds in a cool dark place in paper or jute sacks
