Thankyou very much.I am an"online" friend of Teresa as you may have guessed;it was she who told me of this board.Great to have this forum.I assure you it will be well used.Ponds and fish are the love of my life and I hope I can convert others,or at least help with the experience I have had over the years. Thanks again for granting my request so quickly.
Maggie.

Ah Suze,
you have a frog and no pond for him to play in or bring girlfriends around  :o shame on you. You dont have to have a big one but to see a damsel fly or a dragon fly now thats wildlife in the garden gives me a buzz everytime. Teresa

Hi Teresa,
I am mad about ponds.  I have two on my allotment.  I have a web site dedicated to my ponds :)  I have only had ponds for two seasons now and am totally hooked as you say the wonder of a dragonfly.  I actually had a dragonfly hatch out on one of the pond plants, and took loads of photo's of it drying it's wings out.  I have loads of frogs and I saw newts too, this year.  To say nothing of my fish.  Nice to have an expert on board as I always want to know and learn more about the pond.

At the moment I am watching about 20 baby goldfish, changing colour.  Well, will be soon, as am off to the allotment for the morning.

Hi teresa

Yes I have Mr. frog living in garden.  Always puzzled me where he was situated, found out he lives down drain from gutter overflow! He is real cool and likes to sit in pot which houses clematis. We often sit in the garden together and share thoughts .....  I have lived here 20 years and always been a frog here, although whether same one - dunno how long they live.

Also have Parsley the toad (cos he lives in the parsley pot) and Jeremy (the hedgehog) so hardly any nasty slimey snailey sluggy damage!

Live near a river though - if that makes a difference ..

Hi Chloe, nice to meet you.Enjoyed the photos. They have reminded me that i was given an underwater camera, more as a joke really, for xmas.I must get out there and take some photos while the pond is clear and the fish are still active.Any tips on how to line them up and say smile?  Though with the number I've got there's a good chance i'll get at least one !

Hubby has threatened to get me a snorkel and flippers this year.I think he's joking.Love the site. We've had lots of visits already. Still playing about with all the icons and messages so goodness knows what will come out!

If anyone has looked at my photo's of the babies.  I would like to tell you how I got them.  When I first dug a pond, in May, last year.  I never intended to have fish, it was meant to be a wildlife pond.  Being impatient and I know it's wrong to do so, a plotholder brought me some frog spawn from his pond at home.  I watched with fascination as the spawn turned to taddies and I watched them grow into frogs. But all this watching, of the taddies, I would see this little black thing flashing about and on three occasions I would say to anyone who would listen, ' I am sure there is a fish in there'.  Anyway to cut a long stor short and to get back to the babies.  I watched this little black fish grow into a big black fish, who's name is Sunny and the love of my life :)  My friend had a pond and her fish had babies so I took 3 of her babies to keep Sunny company.  I lost tiny, then I lost Romeo but Tara survived out of the three.  In April this year I decided to dig another pond, this one just for wildlife, no fish.  On Good Friday, my friend phoned me and said would I like some plants from her pond as she was clearing it out and replacing them.  I went galloping round there and put the plants, well most of them, into my new wildlife pond.............  have you guessed yet????????  Her fish had spawned and lo and behold I ended up with the babies.  So wildlife pond numebr 2 ended up with about 30 babies, which over the weeks I have transfered to my big pond.  I don't know how many of them will survive, as it is a wildlife pond and I have boatmen in there, as I saw him earlier in the year and they have to survive all the other perils of life in a pond.

Sorry if I have gone on but do talk a lot about my pond :o
