I think it's a Virburnum.

Yes it is viburnum I have two of them and they are evergreen do not grow very quickly but always give a show of white flowers, when there is little else flowering. They will get quite tall eventually but do not mind being cut back, so work well as hedging and can be shaped to your desire if you want them as a shrub.

They are not cheap to buy, so look after it.

is it possible to take a cutting of it for myself?

My in laws said it was there when they moved in, and was just a couple of twigs sticking out the ground. That was 5 years ago, its now about 6 feet tall and about 4 foot wide.

Trail a branch into the soil (make a nick in the bark) then peg it.

It may take a year but roots will grow from the bit you nicked and placed in the soil.

This process worked well on ours and gave us a 4 ft tree by the time I remembered I'd weighed a branch under a large rock a few years earlier.  Smells beautiful.
