Anyone see "Wild about the Garden"?
« on: November 20, 2008, 16:41:32 »
Hi - I watched this on BBC1 last night and was sooooo disappointed - here was a perfect opportunity to pass on some useful and realistic tips to the average gardener who wants to attract more wildlife and they blew it completely.   All we got was another one of those pathetic, tired, formulaic, pseudo-dramatic instant make-over shows, patronising us with artificial "suspense" and teaching us nothing more than what you can achieve by spending multiple thousands of pounds of licence-payers' money.  I'm surprised Chris Beardshaw got involved in such a thing... OK he must have had his reasons!

Makes me furious >:( - this could have been a lovely programme full of bits of information everyone could use.

basically a makeover show with a wildlife aspect to it and yes I wondering that Chris Beardshaw look a bit out of place as well but at present most gardening programmes on tv are dreadful so i rank this along with the dreadful GW with the 3 characters from the yellow brick road Scarecrow (toby), Dorothy (alice) Tin Man (joe)  ;D

unwatchable, but we do sit and watch  :-X

i can understand your disappointment i was expecting at least a comprehensive list of the plant names. but the garden did look beautiful 5 months on though :).

Watched it on iplayer.  Was very disappointed too !

Not enough information about the plants, too much nonsense with the trees !  Very OTT with the trees.

The only good thing was that the garden did look lovely at the end.

Will watch next week to see if it gets any better, but defo not impressed;  :(
