Yep got a load of strawberry 'temptation' plants from seed, grown last year, not allowed to fruit, will be picking them this year, though!!

Thanks TB. Those are the ones I've seen but it says if planted early enough they should fruit this year.

they will, but you build stronger plants by removing the flowers in the first year (apparently) ;)

Having a go for the first time growing Alpine Strawbs from seed. They say they should fruit in the first year but now I am wondering whether to remove the flowers and fruits this year  ???

I grew Alpine Strawbs from seed this year and they were still fruiting in December!  The variety was Mignonette.
