Saltwort
« on: March 04, 2009, 19:41:34 »
The seed packet just jumped out at me!  ;D

It says similar to samphire and the growing instructions say open ground and no mention of salty water.

Has anyone grown it before, to give me some tips?

Hi Hector, yes I did.  Tried it in salads and it didn't taste of anything much, in fact almost choked me!

It's still growing and I might have a go at cooking it now the grass like leaves have thickened up.

I remembered samphire as a salty, kind of fine bean like plant.  Think you might be a little disappointed as I was, but give it a go, maybe I didn't give it enough TLC.  ;)
