asparagus seeds
« on: December 26, 2009, 15:29:37 »
Does anyone have any spare asparagus seeds.  I think I have lost all my first year asparagus seedlings due to the frost.  They were in approx 5" pots outside.  I tried to cover and protect them but the pots got totally frozen.  Can offer shark fin squash seeds oca tubers, daikon radish or any of the more usualy veggie seeds.

Thanks for your encouragement Saddad.  I checked today and some seemed to have not only survived but are sprouting shoots!!!  Have moved them to the greenhouse but do you have any ideas on how to stop them growing too early?

At this stage you want them to grow as much as possible... they are totally hardy but putting them outside will "slow" them down...
