What eats tomato plants?
« on: June 23, 2011, 14:36:34 »
I noticed the other day that 2 of my tomato plants had been eaten - all that's left is the stalks.  I thought nothing ate them?

Oh yes...there is a moth that its caterpillar eat tomato leaves..and will have a go with fruit too.
I've had few in my GH this year..but as soon as I see signs of it..I keep slapping my plants and the caterpillars drop off..then I just pick them off and chuck them outside.

Thanks for posting this the growing tip of one of my tomatoes has disappeared.  No sign of caterpillar so suspect slugs/snails.  Actually I find the latter are better climbers so my money is on the snail.  I will have to get out with a touch one night.
