don't plant in an area where children are as the berries contain poison!

Hi Mike, there are about 200 different speciesof Lonicera. Most prefer full sun. Plant early spring as soon as frost is over.
Climbing ones: tolerate some shade f.i.
Lonicera heckrottii "Gold Flame"part shade, bloom in summer, train over fenches, will tolerate shade very well, yellow orange, prune late fall or early spring
Lonicera sempervirens "Cedar Lane"part shade, bloom in summer, scarlet flowers late May
Loniceraheckrottii "Dropmore Scarlet"bloom in summer, red flowers
Lonicera Mandarin, orange flowers and glossy, copper leaves
Lonicera henryi with yellow flowers
Lonicera japonica "Dart;s World"small pink flowers, nice scented, june- august.
There are many, many more.
Scented ones, shade tolerated etc.......

It might just be my imagination, but I find that the more orange the colour the more likely it is infested with blackfly. I cleared most of mine out and went for jasmines instead.

If you want evergreen and a plant adored by bees, though the flowers are not showy and the berries are blue/black but persistant try L. alseuosmoides. Ours often has more bees than one can count.
Gardening is the great leveller.
