Topic: How can I put up/attach a photo to my post?

We've searched everywhere for instructions as to how to do this.  When we go into the A4A help  section and look at the info re "additional options", there is one  for attaching files, but that doesn't appear when I am posting, as now for example.  There are only four additional options, but nothing about files. So perhaps A4A doesn't allow this? Yet some posts include photos, so it seems to be possible.  
We have an applemac, and our photos are stored on the computer in iphoto.
I may have posted this to the wrong forum, in which case I'm sorry.
Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Hi peanuts, right you need to use a picture hosting site such as tinypic.com.  upload your pics onto that site.  When it is uploaded you will have a list of links on the left hand side of your pic copy the 1 for forums then just paste it onto which ever thread you want to attach your photo :)

"If you want to insert pictures into posts, there are two ways of doing it.  As Betula says, you can upload your pictures to a (free) photo hosting website like Photobucket or Flickr and link to the picture.  Or for £10 a year (which helps Dan pay the running costs of the forum) you can upload your pictures direct to the forum.  When the sub is paid, Dan enables an additional function that appears on the posting window under Additional Options.  Payment by Paypal is done through the Paid Subscription option which appears in your profile."

I keep my photos on my computer and only use photobucket for pics I put on here.
It's completely free and you can set it so it's private although anyone's welcome to look at pics of my veg. ;D
google photobucket and have a peek it's very easy to set up ('must be 'cos I did it !)
I don't know tinypic.com but I expect it's probably the same thing.
I was a little hesitant at first but as they're only pics of veg and not family I don't have a problem.
ps I think you can pay a small annual fee to A4 and they have an easy way also I'm sure someone will explain it,'can't wait to see your pics.

Thank you everyone, so far.  This is beginning to make sense.  We've not so far used a free picture hosting website, although I am used to uploading onto eg photoshop. 
What you say about paying A4A a small subscription rings bells now from when I joined a year or so ago.  And as you say, that is why we haven't that additional option.  All is becoming clear!
It's not as if I want to post loads of photos, but just occasionally , particularly when talking about a recipe, I would like to.

OK, this is based on my own experience and on guesswork as there's no Moderators' Guide to A4A!  If you set up a recurring payment on Paypal, you'll get an email notice when the next payment is taken.  If you did a one-off payment by Paypal or cheque, I don't think there's a reminder email but I'm happy to be corrected on that if someone who has done it that way knows.  You can check how long is left on your subscription at any time by going to your profile and clicking on Paid Subscriptions.
