I've run the photo through a plant identification app which suggests curly dock (rumex crispus), an "injurious weed" under the Weeds Act 1959! I wouldn't let it seed.

The leaves look rather shiny and wavy edged for dock.
Is it possible to get a closer, clearer photo of the leaves?
Is that a post it’s growing next to? Surely not part of the plant?

Thank you all for your replies. I have been told it is a vampire lily. Attached is how it looked yesterday

Goodness. That is dramatic! The 'post' was part of the plant.

:blob7:It's a fabulous Voodoo Lily .  :coffee2:  I grow them I think they are beautiful . They are said to give off a scent of rotting meat , which attracts flies , which pollenate them . However the smell doesn't last long and in fact I personally can't detect much of a smell at all .  There are lots of different amazing varieties . I've had mine such a long time I've long forgotten the names of the varieties that I have . It will die right down over winter and come up again in the Spring with it's beautiful reptilian spotted stems . They spread by little corms down by the roots and can be very expensive to buy .
It is fabulous !  Debbie  :coffee2:
Trespassers will be composted !
