Topic: Postage

Hi all, as I'm 13, I'm getting a little bit confused now over this postage! I understan that unless the letter excedes 5 in thickness, it will most likely be an ordinary stamp that needs to be put on the envelope, unless it is over 100g. If it is, and does not exceed a thickness of 25mm, I understand that you would usually need a 'large' stamp, depending on the weight of the package. Would you, however, go into the Post Office, and ask for a large stamp, or for it to be weighed?? Any other info I should know? Thanks :)

We carry books of Large and ordinary stamps at home Pete... your Sunflower seeds I was going to risk in ordinary but OH said No put them in a padded envelope so it went large... but usually if not sure I get it weighed and stamped in the PO...

Just collect a guide sheet from the Post Office - saves a lot of aggro.

Don't worry Pete, the fact that you're 13 has nowt to do with it! The leaflet Tim speaks of is currently on my fridge as i send lots of stuff to my neices and nephews and am always confused!!

Hi all - thanks for the advice. My mum picked up one of the leaflets today, so I understand it a little better now! They are around to help, but they're not too sure either!

Yeah - can't wait! The 5th films coming out as well about a week before. We've just got a new cinema here in Redditch, so I won't have to go all the way to Rubery to see it!

Pete if you look on the Royal Mail website, it should all become as clear as mud!!

I find it all confusing too, there are just too many options, and I am sure it is driving our local post office mad as everyone is taking every letter in to make sure it is OK!

The postage rate goes up again on Monday!!!  Every time it goes up it costs us near £100.00 for a new chip for our postal scales at work, I am sorely tempted to take in my kitchen scales  ::)
