Well maybe not so extreme but a warning. We have just recently got back from holiday to find a `strange` smell.
Turns out it was the sack of pink fir apples that I had forgotten to put in the shed-OH says " yes I noticed one or two going rotten but forgot to tell you"
The moral?-if you have spent a year growing it-look after it yourself ;D

Oh poor both of you - that smell does penetrate. Rotten potatoes - one of the worst smells I know of. Yuk.
