Try to stop them!

But cut right down or you'll get a grotty 'left-over' area.

Is this the same for garlic chives as my seed from the Organic Gardening catalogue says don't cut lower than 6cm?

That's interesting - don't know.

And it's possible that mine would grow better if I did that. But they can get messy.
