Holes in Aub & Pepper leaves - & fruit - more likely to be earwigs than slugs.

Set traps early on.

Oh, & seal any 'inspection cut' that you may make in Sweetcorn cobs. The 'wigs'll be in like lightning!

Is it just me that calls them earywigs.  Is it a Kent thing or am I childish?

earwigs are detrivores, they mainly eat decaying matter and therefore play a part in the nitrogen cycle.  they do however occaisonally nibble on living plant material.  they're like most people, good most of the time.
It'll be better next year

My shed is full of earwigs, in every nook and crevice!! Was banging in nails to hang onions from, and with every blow, they were just falling out of the seams!!! Should I be worried? And should I do anything? Apart from scream.... Lottie  ;D

Get some nice big hairy spiders.

PLease no!! Not terribley good with them either!! Know they're goodies, but think I'd need a lorry load to get rid of earwigs I've got.  What I meant was, will they eat the shed??  Lottie ;D

I haven't seen an earwig for years in the garden, at one time they used to be everywhere, think they must've died out here.or hiding very well.
