We have a dolphin in our harbour! Took these this morning but it was a bit like that kitkat advert with the pandas!

How wonderful! Where is your harbor? Looks like a lovely place.

Heldi

I live in Amble in Northumberland. The river is the Coquet.   I'm never quite satisfied with the pics of the harbour. The photos are never quite as colourful or as dramatic (when the tide goes out) as in real life.  I'll keep trying though!

Fat Andy

Wow HJeldi.  These are great.  Reminds me of whale-watching off Vancouver a few years back.  Cheers.

Oh, it looks like a very nice area to live. Somehow I thought it may not have been in England.

Marianne

What beautiful pictures and how lucky of you to spot that dolphin !  It really is a very nice place.  Thanks for sharing with us.  ;D :D
Enjoy today to the full.  You are not sure of a tomorrow.

Great photos Heldi.  it must have been amazing to see the dolphin.  Well done for capturing it for us.  I love the Northumberland coast and think not enough people in other parts of England know how lovely it is.  Proud to be a North Easterner.  ;D busy_lizzie
live your days not count your years

Gadfium

Was down at Druridge Bay week-before-last week; sun, sea, sand, miles of beach, cool in-shore breeze, dunes for picnics... and in 4 hours I counted 17 other people.

It's our secret!

:D

Mimi

:'(  Cant see the photos Heldi.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Heldi

I'm sorry mimi I don't understand why  ???

Gadfium. Druridge is lovely isn't it.  We have a lovely stretch of coastline. Think where I live is the only bit not so glamorous. It is great for beachcombing and rock pooling though! I'm there 2 or 3 times a week in all weathers and hey, we got a dolphin !!!

Carol

Amble is not so far away from me and I too like the coastline of N. Northumberland which continues right up into Berwickshire with the cliffs of St Abbs etc.  I may just pay Amble a visit soon if there is a Dolphin in the bay.  Great pics Heldi.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Carol! He's fishin for the trout,or "troot" as my neighbour says! So I recommend getting the tidal times(google) and if you can...come down on a week day. It is packed at the weekend. I was there the other morn...only my daughter in her pram, myself and a couple of senior blokes. The dolphin was really active as the tide went out. Except everytime I looked away the men were saying "There he is, oooh you missed a good shot there!"  I knew it was true aswell because you can hear its blow hole when it comes up!  Everyone calls it a "he" but I don't know!!

Mrs Ava

oooooooooooo!  Now I know I shouldn't be, but I am so jealous!  Between you and your dolphins and dirkdigger and his basking shark and I green all over!  One of my dreams is to go Whale watching!  The porpoise often come into Instow in North Devon close to where my family live, and they call and brag about seeing them.....do the porpoise ever visit when I am there....do they hell!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT PHOTOS HELDI!!!!!

Svea

;D Can see them at last Heldi.  Lovely photos.  I adore dolphins, such beautiful creatures.  You are lucky to be able to see them so close to home.
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

You and me both EJ. I'd love to go whale watching. I'd also like to go down in a cage with Great Whites. I say I'd like to but I think I'd bottle it!

Svea I was at my lottie yesterday and believe you me...my hazy snaps of the dolphin are a whole lot prettier a sight than my allotment. It is still covered up with black sheeting and carpet trying to see off those weeds.

Mimi. The dolphin arrived about a fortnight ago and seems to be sticking around for the time being. The fishermen say that there are loads further out to sea. Tell you what though...it doesn't stop them going out and playing with it! Four boats were out last night floating about watching the dolphin. Felt a bit envious being a landlubber stuck on the pier. Anyway the dolphin awarded us with a big leap out of the water  ;D . I missed it with the camera but I managed to get this fuzzy pic. He is the black mark in front of the boat. He is very big !
