do you hate it that your chilli gets really tall and has very little at the bottom foot?

Well my habaneros have this upto an inch!! and then they bush out!! it was all a mistake really, whilst doing all the jobs in the greenhouse one of my chilli plants was snapped :( it had had its growing tip ripped off. taking pity i took it home and potted it on, placed it on my bedroom window along with two others.

since the growth on the snapped one was very little! but then woosh, three shoots from the snapped area and it looks the best of the bunch. very bushy and nicly shapen. more and mroe shoots coem from here but am pinching these off to keep its good shape.

anyone else done this? mine was an accident but i think i will do it again next year on a few.  ;D

A few of mine have been...ahem...accidently broken, and yes, they do bush out nicely.  I don't know whether they are doing better than the un-snapped ones though.  Will have to compare tomorrow! (Oh, today.......already after the witching hour!)

I took 3 plants to my dads a month or so back. The car was soooo hot and all the tops and flowers fell off.

Now they have all picked up again and are far bushier and have many more flowers on than mine do.

Go figure :)

my bell pepper got broken as well, now it has bushed up a bit and has a few flowers but no peppers as yet :'(
i fear it might be getting a bit late in the season for peppers now as i don't have a greenhouse.
still, the flowers are pretty. :)

D & T    I'm growing bell types on the lotty.  One has a lovely green fruit but the other plant has nothing yet.  I'm optimistic though.  I've not no greenhouse but have screwed some old window frames together.  It doesn't have any tops but they are an outdoor variety so I'm looking forward to plenty of peppers  :)
I came, I saw, I composted

good idea, i must be able to find SOMETHING to make a cloche out of,
thanks wardy  ;D
