The Thyme thread reminded me!

Our coriander went to seed, I wanted to make space in the post so have pulled it up and hung it upside down in the garage. Is this the right thing to do, will the seeds dry and we can use them in cooking, or am I wasting my time?  ???

Well worth doing it. Nothing wasted!
gone to pot :D

I discovered that there are two types of coriander. The one I had been growing went to seed easily, and had lots of seeds, so is OK to use that way. But if you want more leaf and less seed, there is one called Cilantro which is very leafy and doesn't run to seed so easily.

Hi ,

I too have got the variety with lots of green seeds - can anyone tell me when to harvest them ?

now while they are green or wait until they turn brown?

thanks Gail.

Someone please show me a variety that does NOT go straight to seed unless you cut it back almost daily? I've tried every make. But then, Raymond Blanc  has a continual supply. And several gardeners?

Thank you for that Tim, I have tons of seeds that have been green for weeks and I was about to harvest them, I shall now wait until they start turning brown.

I want some for cooking and some for reseeding next year
