Before I blow the budget for this month, does anyone know of an alternative (cheaper) source of this bramble than Ken Muir? It goes against the grain to pay that much for a bramble! £17.93 including delivery  :o

we bought from Wilko - but they get them in for the spring - which means that they won't produce berries that year -  though they have grown well - if you can wait a year then at about £3 you can't complain!

I've looked all round for fantasia, and haven't found it anywhere apart from Ken Muirs. I'll keep looking! :)

I know that Ken Muir's are expensive, but I've always been delighted with the quality of their plants.  I'd hesitate to save a few quid, then invest a lot of time and effort, only for the result to be disappointing.

That makes sense M12. I might push the boat out and order.  :)

If I plant a "domesticated Bramble" will it be cross pollinated by wild ones and diminish the quality of fruit? ???

Robert_Brenchley

No, what pollinates the flower won't affect the quality of the fruit, merely that of the seedlings.
