How long is the damson in season for?
I hear you say stupid question but listen to this.
Yesterday I rang up a local greengrocer and asked if he had some NO says he they came in end of August big juciy ones all gone.
I went into my local Tesco's and asked in there,
In two weeks says the chap who orders the fruite for the shop. Are you sure says I yes says he I saw them on the order sheet and described what a damson looked like.
So you see my question is how can they come - go - and come again?
Confused you bet. Teresa

Ours, in this freezing part of the N.W. Midlands start in late August and finish in Mid September in a normal( hollow laughter season). This year they went from unripe to over in about three days. Your Tescos is probably importing them from somewhere where the Season is later than in Britain.
Gardening is the great leveller.
