tips for a sink

the permanently raised carrot bed arrived last night  ;D  and that got me thinking of what to do with the the sink as it seemed a shame not to put that to some good use as well.

i'm thinking bird bath as i think my darlings deserve better than a bucket but has anyone got any pics or ideas how i can use my new sink.

the garden is starting to look like steptoes yard  ;D

if it's a nice flat sink, my mum always grew sedums in them. She raised them on a couple of bricks, and eventually the sedums hung over the edge - lovely.
If it's a deep modern one (e.g. not exactly a work of art), what about burying it in the soil and planting invasive but lovely plants in it e.g. mint?
Can't wait to hear if the carrot bed works! ;)

How about water cress? They like it very moist and it is very easy to grow and very good for you.

just been out there (in the rain naturally) digging over the "flower bed" for the stones to put in the bottom of the carrot bed and there are plenty.

thanks for the sink suggestions.  i can't rightly mind the design just now as it was dark when i saw it last  8)

If you substitute manure for some of the sand in cement, and cover a porcelain sink with that, you can manage something quite acceptable. I just leave them as they are, and plant them up.
