Bought 2 apple trees for lottie about 2 weeks ago. Its been too cold to plant them out so i've left them in the dining room and kept watering the root ball waiting for the weather to pick up. Problem is they've started flowering. Should they still be ok for planting out? Weather looks a touch warmer at the weekend.

If your soil's not frozen over the weekend, take them to the plot and heel them in at least.

Palustris

You will need to remove the flowers anyway this year so no problems.
Gardening is the great leveller.

Sorry to hijack - Palustris, does that go for nectarines as well?

About a month ago I bought a nectarine from Woolies which was already in flower bud so I  planted it in a big pot in a very sheltered spot. It's now in full blossom - should I pick these off?
Lesson for life:
1. Breathe in     2. Breathe out     3. Repeat

Yeah oops exactly. Forecast looks better for weekend should i just put them in as normal?
