Warm enough in Whitley to sit in the back garden (in woollies!) with coffee - fabulous.  My absolutely lovely but non-gardening husband has promised to give me his total undivided attention tomorrow and do all the hard labour he keeps promising to do and never quite gets round to.  Hoorah!  My raised herb bed in the back garden is the first project.  Had a wonderful sunny morning on the beach with dog and child getting loads of seaweed, emptied out the compost bins and rebuilt with seaweed to re-start them - mucky but happy now!  A bit depressing that last year's bin that was stacked to the gunwhales, has produced compost that, although lovely, is only 6 inches deep in the bin!  I'm now busy thinking of lots of ways of skanking raw materials to fill both garden daleks and a big compost bin in the lottie (the big compost bin being husband's 2nd job tomorrow!)

Yay - fab stuff Ceri, go girl and crack that whip! Pictures?? I am on a similar promise next Saturday so hope for good weather for me.  He's got me a shed and lots of other bits and the 'outlaws' are having the sprogs so work work work!  ;D

Do you hire them out girls?  My other half comes over all peculiar when I mention doing some work in the garden or lottie!

update..... poured with rain last night and back garden is solid clay so would churn up horribly and boots would sink to the ankle!  Husband pretending concern - perhaps we should wait until next weekend so we don't ruin the lawn (like he cares!).  Am thinking about capitulating, on the basis that we go to a garden nursery instead!!  Poor man - between a rock and a hard place again!!

Sympathies - as if it isn't hard enough to get some help without the weather conspiring against you!

Hail shower just passed over, but it's a bit parky, so all I'm doing today is going down the greeny to talk nicely to the seeds I've sown!

Feel your pain Ceri! We planned a full day in the lottie today, but like you saw the rain and felt really disappointed.  Then it cheered up and the sun came out and we thought we would chance it, but then hey! it has just started to pour again, so looks like it is off again for us too.  Hope you manage to make the best of it or pin him down for another time.  ;D busy_lizzie
