Got carried away again!! So have to offer some of the following from last years seeds:-

The Prince : Good early variety producing abundant, fairly flat pods.
Excellent Flavour. Can be picked over a long period

Purple Teepee : Purple podded variety. High yeilds of delicious beans which turn green on cooking.  :( Pods are held well above the foliage facilitating easier harvesting.

Safari : Highly recommended variety producing strong plants with an upright growth habit. Pods are carried high on the plant making picking easier. High level of disease resistance.

PM me if you are interested in any, first come first served! ;D

Hi there Doris-Pinks

I'd fancy a couple of the Prince if there are still some available.  I only need about six.  PM me if you still have some.  What can I swop you for?  I've got some new hollyhocks and some Taffeta Poppy seeds that I just bought that I could send you a pinch of.

Hello Doris Pink

Hey don't worry about it - I call it my 'senior moments' - the only problem is that my mom always says that as long as we have lucid periods in between we are still doing OK - problem with me is that the lucid periods are getting shorter and fewer!!

I checked my packet that the beans came in and yes you did send me the purple Teepee - but I'm afraid that I have already planted them into pots...  So I can save some once they come out and send them back to you for you to send to Elkebee or you can give me her PM and I'll send them direct to her at the end of the season... sorry - for a change I was fast off the mark and got them in the pots.  Otherwise I have some other dwarf beans if they are interested.

Hi Jitterbug  ;D
I put your Prince seeds aside and pm'd DP to see what had happened so if you pm me your details I'll send the seeds straight on to you.  DP says she still has some Purple Teepee left so it'll all work itself out in the end - things usually do  :)
We'll have to compare how the Purple Teepee does- have you grown them before?   I grew beans (of any sort) for the first time last year and was very taken with them - beautiful flowers as well as great tasting - so am trying to increase the varieties that I grow this year.

Jitterbug

Hello Ellekebe

Sorry about the mix up - I have never grown them before so they will be an experience - bit funny having purple podded beans - can't wait to taste them though.  Funny how we associate certain tastes with colours.   ;D

If you like growing beans so much I have some Dwarf French beans 'masterpiece' that I could send you if you are interested?

Let me know.

That'd be great  - I'm aiming to encircle the garden with beans this summer!  ;D  I'll pm you my details and also get Prince seeds off to you when I've got your details.

Teepee should be really something to see but I think that most coloured pods turn green on cooking - ? - at least I hope so as I'm not sure how appetising they'll look otherwise  :)

littlegem

Last year i grew goldfield french climbing beans (and again this year) the best tasting beans i've had, like butter in your mouth. this year aswell i'm doing violetpod, althought apparantly they go green when cooked anyway
