we have all raised beds 10" deep-we dig  a trench as deep as we can, sling in horse poo......little bit of soil, tatey, soil to cover ,then earth up from the mound at the side of the trench-last year we had taters in an area with very shallow soil and covered as best we could with soil available-we were still delighted with the crop(and we eats a lot o' tates!)
so this year should be even better....
got me boiling water at the ready! ;D

Have a look at this Microsoft webpage and the section on Image resizer.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Its a small program that lets you right click an image file an resize it - only takes 2 clicks and your done! it also  makes a copy so it doesn't mess up your original. Choosing the 640 x 480 option will be perfect for A4A forums.

I'm using Paintshop Pro at the moment, it's only a couple of clicks on that. There are loads of programs out there, including some free ones, and it's easy on all of them.

For a high quality free image editer try The Gimp

It's an excellent one; I've used it before. It's available for either Windows or Linux.
