I read until 2am this morning but luckily the dog didn't get me up until 7.45am. It was drizzling so no hurry to get showered and dressed (ready for gardening)So had my cuppa then breakfast then decided to watch some snooker I had videoed. Lorna came round and chatted and looked on here for holidays. She went.. time for shower. Son John turned up for cuppa, never satisfied with one. He went, I had previously slipped trousers and cardigan over night clothes to take dog up the garden. Got clean clothes ready, John and Donna came. They had been to cemetery to check headstone with spirit level. I thought it had sunk and wanted it checked before warranty ran out.
SO I eventually had my shower and got dressed at 1.30pm. I then settled down to do all the ironing, daughter Vickie and son-in-law arrived. So all in all not a very productive day but I did manage the ironing and spend time on here ::) ::) ::)

We had a great day today, regardless of the fact that it drizzled all day!  Got up early and popped to the local car boot.  The kids love it and always come home with a carrier bag each of 'treasure', the entire contents not costing more than £2.
Refueling stop -  lovely lunch of thick butchers sausages in lovely soft bread, before taking the kids to the school playing fields on their bikes as there is a great big empty car park there, perfect for training the angels the ways of riding, and my darling and I stood and watched number one son riding for the first time with no stabilisers.  Not bad for a 5 year old.  Number one daughter wasn't so impressed as she is yet to master this skill, but it will come.  My babies are growing up before my very eyes and sometimes I am scared to blink in case I miss something!
Home, like 4 drowned rats, warm drinks and steamy baths.  The kids will sleep well tonight!  ;D

EJ. That sounds like a great day. Five minutes ago I got good news via email, my great niece (Charlie's side) had a little boy on Friday night another safe delivery. They now have three boys.

lovely news Lorna. I'm hoping to get into Brum this week to look for little things to send for Oscar my friend's baby......ahhh....it's going to be fun choosing what to buy.

btw......what's up with Rosebud? Do hope she's OK?

Well, my day, as I've written about varously here, was a bit...mixed? Firstly, the fox..lovely chappie he was :).....then had the pea gravel and compost delivered :D......then went to raid Home Bargains for 7 arches 8)..but then came the nasty bit - witnessed a recently deceased old lady's furniture being smashed up on the pavement to fit into a van to go to the tip. Dreadful sight and disrespectful and totally unnecessary as the Sally Ann would have been grateful of it and I could have arranged collection this Thursday. Spent late afternoon morosely raking the gravel down - didn't bother with gloves & now have grimy hands and broken nails. :(

Lish. I was in touch with Mary yesterday so perhaps she is just busy. All seemed well when I "spoke" to her.
I agree with your thoughts regarding  the deceased lady's furniture. I remember our dustman saying "When we go to clear up we think that is all that seems to remain of a persons life" Very sad. We recently had similar round the corner from us. An old lady died (she was alone) and when her family did the skip clear they even put  the disabled items in the skip which had been given to her by Social Services!! I didn't know until I was told by a neighbour. I would have politely asked them to return them so that another person could have the benefit.. Some people!!!
