This is not so much as a request to swap as a request to receive....!

I have just started an organic gardening club at the junior school that I work at and I am appealing for any spare seeds - or even better seedlings - to get us off to a good start this year.  Ideally we are after very easy grow, quick result things.

Any help gratefully received by myself and the children!

Are you looking for veggies, flowers or both?  Flower wise I can offer Nasturtiums and Sunflowers, and veggie wise Radish Scarlet Globe and French Bean Aiguillon.  PM me if you are interested - I'm all for getting kids involved in organic gardening .   :)

Hi,

Good luck with your venture.  Please PM with you name and address and I will find something to send you.

I feel very strongly that a lot of children are fed microwave meals, never see (let alone eat) a veggie, and as a result - how are they going to feed/raise their own families???????

Kind regards

Ann

I've got a few of the following seeds, if any/all may be of use, then just PM me with your address and 'would likes'....

- Latah tomato (bush, very early variety) and Urbikany tomato (likewise), see the http://www.vidaverde.co.uk/tomatoes.html page for details. Also Moneymaker.
- Swiss chard (could be used for CCA)
- Chicory (leaf)
- Forellenschuss lettuce (nice speckled variety)
- Few climbing peas
- Few dwarf french beans (Prince)
- About 15 Broad Bean seeds (Green Windsor)
- Turnip
- Small amount Spicy Oriental Mix (not enough for CCA, but quick module sown result to be planted out for salads would work)
- Black Kale
- Spring Onions
- Sunflower seeds (from a sack of bird food, so pot luck there)
- Grain Amaranth
- Asparagus peas
- Celeriac

We are a member of the RHS at school.  It does not cost anything and they regulary send out packet of seeds.  They also have a scheme where you can choose different seeds from a little catalogue.  It might be worth looking on their website.  Oh yes - they also send us a copy of "The Garden" magazine.

Good luck with the plot.

i think 2000 might be enough to see me through Lish  ;D

WOW - you are all very generous people - I agree with a lot of you, some kids are never allowed to get their hands dirty or get a chance to eat really fresh food.  We are planning veg and flowers and the area we have is a good size and the soil is to die for!

I will be PMing all those who have offered - thanks again.

MrsKP

or maybe were just over enthusiastic when the seed catalogues came out  ;D ;D ;D ;D
