Hi

My Question is:

Is it to early to transplant my runner beans out some are about a foot in height.

Thanks for your advice.

The reliable italian gent near to me has had some planted out for 3 weeks. I suspect he has some in reserve Just in Case ;)

Crewe's not that cold?

Ours have been in a week, & I'm ready with the fleece!!

Reserve is a good idea.  Being a known possessor of plant-killer thumb I've shoved some seeds in last Saturday and also have some in pots in the garden just waiting for the next trip to site.

The lowest temperature we recorded in our garden this date 17th May last year was 3.7 ºc and it never came anywhere near that thereon, 8) having said that my runners were fleeced into the beginning of June. ::)

Having said that my runners are naked as we speak :o and the lowest temperature in our garden up till now from beginning of May was 4.0 ºc. and last nights min was 10.8ºc. 8)

Mine have been in since the start of May, but we are in the tropics of Essex.  Most of my toms and squashes will be heading out on Friday!  :-\

On the south coast and everythings in the ground except Toms. Just keeping my fingers crossed and the fleece handy.

flossie

mine are still in the packet and with all this rain tonight they are going to be there a little longer

the first sowing of four went in the ground a couple of weeks ago but not really put on much of a spurt since (fleece windbreak round them but nothing over them).

second crop failed, and 3 out of 4 of the third crop are still on the window sill.  i'll do another 4 at the weekend which will give me one per cane plus a couple.

Mine are out, this season has been weird. I just might have runners at the same time as broad beans. The last time things got so confused was in Leeds after the winter of 1981
