Everything looking yellow?

Just had a walk and went past the plot - noticed that most things are looking a bit yellow - ie sweetcorn and runnerbeans that haven't been in long.  Is this just due to transplanting or maybe too much water (we did have massive storms yesterday)?  Should I feed (chicken manure) to perk them up?

Cheers

my sweetcorn is looking a little yellow too, I put it down to them being recently planted out, lots of rain and not too much sun.

The beans I planted out a couple of weeks ago have gone yellow too. I thought that it might be down to the cold nights but, all apart from one, are seeming to recover

same here, i have after xmas dug in some partially rotted manure and  was wondering if the continued decomposition had robbed the plants of nitrogen hence the colour. so popped a bit of growmore on top.

Same here too, many plants have lost leaves too. I put it down to the waterlogged and relatively cold soil.

Have just come back from the plot and everyone looks like they have had some damage from the hail and cold rain yesterday.  The runner beans are not too bad up close but the poor tomatoes look very poorly with wrinkly leaves.  I've wrapped some fleece around them to protect them tonight as we are due another load of chilly rain but is it too late?

Will they come back or will I be better buying some plants - very sad as raised these from see myself and they were looking great!   :'(

They were hardened off for ages and only went to the plot last weekend.

A bit of sun and a touch less rain/hail/snow and they'll all be fine.

Thank you Amphibian for your encouraging words!  The end of the week is looking better here so I hope they survive until the sun can warm them agian.   ;D

If it continues, I'd check the acidity of your soil. I've had problems with this myself before - a little top dressing of lime usually sorts it out.  :)
I will cut the grass only when I get Mowtivated.

We all just need a lot of sunshine,it is to cold for the time of year.Nature rejects on it bean are be yellow and if you noticed tomatoes are turning blue, the leaves not the toms.

Yes my tomato plants are looking a little blueish, they're outdoors now. Weather forecast is getting better now so hoping some warm weather and sunshine will put everything right. :)

My beans that went in last week because they were getting too big for their tubes are looking a little yellow, but quite healthy otherwise. I did put a bit of very well rotted manure under each plant when i planted them as it had been too wet to do the planned bean trench.

fingers crossed it's just transplant shock

Went round all 175 plots today in prep for the open day Sunday, yellow everywhere, just too d**n cold and windy for the end of May... three or four hot days together and they'll get over it!
;D
