Harvesting wind-damaged pots in tubs

Well, my salad pots, Belle de Fontenay, 3 chitted tats per (large) muck-tub planted 1st April (apt or wott?) were earthed up to almost the top of the tubs. The foliage was just starting to flower and was being supported by 3 grills, surplus to various ovens.

Then the gales hit. Just now found both tubs full of foliage that had been blown over the grills, cutting them. Have harvested one tubful - 450gms of lovely pots, but hardly the crop I was expecting?

Question for the second tub = given that the foliage is now so damaged and won't be giving doodly to the plants, am I now forced to harvest the meagre crop and cut my losses? (Think I've answered my own question..) But if I leave them in for a few days, will they rot off, start to sprout, what? Best to harvest them now, do you think?

btw.....what would be the expected yield from 3 healthy B-de-F in superb soil 8) had the plants been allowed to flower & harvested at a better time, anyone know, please?

Not a helpful reply but an aside.

I was experimenting by growing some chits this year - started them in modules and then planted out in a large pot.  Have earthed up steadily and watered daily.  Leaves were today at top of pot level and I was looking forward to my final earthing.  Trouble is, the dog got there first and had dug the whole pot out and obliterated the contents so the experiment is now postponed until next Feb/March when the dog may well be fertilizing them >:(
