Which Variety is that Jenny? My Regent are doing well but I want a seedless outdoor white considering Lakemont...

Grape Baco 1 seems to grow well in my heavy clay soil. I did also have a Madeleine Angevine, but it kept getting really mildewy and horrid looking, so I took it out.
It's taken me about 8 years of messing about to get it producing a good crop - it started in the back garden, got moved from shady side to sunny side, and then got moved to its current position about 4 years ago, where it has flourished - back of shed, facing almost south, in full sun. I learned a fair bit about them at college, so hopefully my winter pruning will be better this year than it has been in the past. And I'll try not to shift it any more.  :-[

The Baco1 seems to cope very well... how much thining do they need? I never seem to thin my regent enough although I am getting better results each year!

If you mean thinning the fruit, well I'm as guilty as the next person of leaving too many on  ;D but this year did manage to thin out half of the bunches that formed, as well as thinning out flowers that were obviously going to turn into teeny bunches. Really, I've been told that the vine should carry only about 1 bunch per sq ft or less, but it's so hard to be so brutal!
