I put some parsnip seeds in a tub withc soggy kitchen roll to germinate and forgot about them, They're now about an inch high - can I just drop them in a drill and cover them or do I have to plant them with the leaves above the soil surface ?

I'd give them a go in a shallow drill and lightly cover - the leaves should find their way out, I would have thought?

I'm sure there will be good advice from fellow boardies!

Hi beer_belly - sorry, I don't know the answer either.  Give it a go?

And sow another row direct at the same time for insurance?

Good luck - Gavin

Aqui, get a cell tray, bung one seed per cell, water and see.  I did that and every single seed germinated!  Couldn't believe it!!  I know they might not grow into long long slender 'snips, but what have I got to loose, I ain't entering any competitions, I just want some parsnips!

BB, plant them with the leaves above the soil otherwise they will probably rot.
