So...which seed, when sown, where sown, go on, tell us all... I WANT MELONS LIKE EJ's GOT ;) ;D

Can't remember the exact name, I think they were from Seeds of Italy.  I will grab the pack tomoz and let you know the name.

Sown Feb/March time in the greenhouse.  BOY did they every struggle.  OUt of about 30 seeds, I ended up with 6 plants!  They were planted on the allotment under a glass roof - well, it is an old greenhouse roof which I use like a low level greenhouse/coldframe.  They did bugger all for months, then suddenly off they went.  There are another couple of fruits still swelling, so hopefully if this warm spell lingers, we will have another one next week!  YUMSKY!

(but can I grow okra...can I bugger!)

Can't you just use the seeds in the middle then? I haven't a clue about stuff like that (yet)

You could I guess, but I grow loads of pumpkins, cucumbers and other squashes together, so I think there might be a chance of cross pollination, and they you wouldn't end up with the same fruit that you started with......I believe.

Unfair, Emma! Just LOVE melons, & found them easy, even in a cold frame, but couldn't keep up with the eating bit.

Wonderdful scent in the greenhouse when they near ripening.

magnificant and has just reminded me that we've got one in the fridge (definitely NOT home grown  :'().

i just don't think i'd ever get the weather to even try them.
