Picked this little lot today from my pots of edibles.  Also got another head of celery ready for soup tomorrow and two more cucumbers will be ready for picking in the next few days.  Just lovin' it!    ;D   G x

An enviable crop of physalis :P
Just shows what variety and quality of veg can be grown in pots.
Are you planning to run veg arranging courses any time soon? :o ;) ;D

saddad

Well done. I have a backlog of about twenty white wonder cucs., despite having given away about ten!
;D

Emagggie

Looking at your physalis, Georgie, makes me think of Thursday afternoon this week when my plottie neighbour invited me and another plotter to taste his physalis. They were beautiful. Not a bit like the tasteless fruit we get in restaurants. By the time we had finished eating all the ripe ones, he had very little to take home for his wife. :P ;D

I see the makings of a tasty meal there.
Smile, it confuses people.

Georgie

ROFL@SS, trust you!  ;D

Thanks, saddad.  Can we see a pic of your white wonders?   ;)

I'll take it now but may take time to post as I have to get at the laptop and E-mail it to my main...and the boys hold the Laptop as their sacred preserve at the weekend!
;D

Georgie

Hi Emaggie.  Can't beat a Physalis feast eh?  I had the toms, onions and watercress with come cheese for lunch.  Beans are for later.   ;D

Right oh, one thing us gardeners learn is patience.   ;D

I've taken the pic., the long thin ones may be Boothby's Blond... didn't do any Crystal Apple this time. These open pollinated vars. are great, cheap seed , you can save your own, no messing about with male and female flowers, I really can't understand how F1's caught on!
;D

Commercial hype. It suits the seed manufacturers, so we're manipulated into buying the things.

Stunning Georgie.  Absolutely stunning!

(I will get your French Beans to you next week....all behind and going nowhere this week!)  :-\

How do you grow your cress, Georgie?

Georgie

Very impressive, saddad, I might rethink the variety I grow next year now.   :)

Thanks EJ, and look forward to receiving the beans when you have a minute, clearly there is no rush.   ;D  Did the Echinacea arrive safely?

Hi Tim.  I'm growing the watercress in a 12" pot which stands in a saucer of water which is kept constantly topped up.   It's the first time I've tried it and it works a treat.   :D

American or land cress isn't quite as nice but it is certainly dependable and firey hot... can become a weed if your not careful...
;D

tim

Wish it would become a weed here, Dad!! Even then, not the same stuff.

Georgie - only just realised that all that was in POTS. Amazing!! What size pots?

Georgie

Mainly 12" pots, Tim, although I go up to 15" for hungry/thirsty plants like runner beans.  At only 9 foot wide (north to south) my garden is just too narrow to make growing edibles feasible in beds so I have no choice.
