well, this is the sort of thing we  a,/ found at the plot  and b,/ did at the plot and what's wierd, it was just brilliant being there

the 10 tons of muck arrived and we filled all 3 carrot and parsnip beds and one of the long beds
trouble is we're just soooo tired and achy, we're thinking of not going tomorrow, especially if it rains again :-\

And to think we are still having a hosepipe ban and in the middle of a drought

manicscousers

send some water wagons and we'll fill them all up, stopped worrying about it now  ;D

Great photos, thanks for sharing. Naughty, naughty, how many times have members said  "Take it easy" ? Hope your aches and pains ease up quickly.

manicscousers

thanks, Lorna, all's well now, went there for a couple of hours this morning, weather's lovely, ray's dug part of the channel to lower ground so the water will, hopefully, start to drain away, long way to go, though.. :)

Ducks sound like the least of your problems... Does the name Noah mean anything?
::)

manicscousers

that's just what I said to ray on saturday, I really thought we should be looking at rice paddies, anyway, ray dug another drainage ditch and it started filling up, FROM THE OTHER END !!

got to laugh  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Do your neighbours have this problem too?
In our last house, the lawn used to flood, so be bought in several tonns of topsoil. The results were fantastic...but our next door neighbours garden flooded even more and deeper! :o (Wasn't to know how it would affect him)
Water buffalo next maybe?

manicscousers

well, at least we wouldn't have to buy the manure in, do veggies like buffalo poo ?

the allotment next door wasn't as neglected as the plot we took over, the beds had all been raised so they have some water in them but not on top,

the piece you're looking at is a path at the side of our plot, all our beds are raised by 18" approx, we're just worried about the trees that are going in the beds adjoining this path, we're thinking of adding another 6" on the beds

we'd already planted the grapevines nd cherry tree before the floods this year  ???
