thinning out

Carrots beginning to grow and I have obviously not sown thinly enough. I have read that if I 'thin out' then I am more likely to attract carrot fly.

If I just leave them will they sort themselves out by natural selection - ie strongest survive - or must I intervene?

Have found this site soooooo helpful - thanks to you all and hope you can advise me on this one.

oh - can I ask about planting things near them too, that carrot fly doesn't like - any tips?

Be a devil - thin out gently to at least 1/2" apart - cover with fleece. Too late. in my mind. to start planting anti-bugs.

But tell me about anyone who got their carrot sowing right. = Tim
