Today I picked my first ripe strawberry & it looks like there will be lots more ready soon. None of the alpine strawberries died back for the winter although the larger berries all started died back over the christmas/new year period the same as usual. Today was one of the white alpine berries & the red & yellow varieties are about to flower so they will be producing again soon.
If this is what global warming does then I say bring it on.

A few more ripe today I like the Alba plants because the birds don't eat the white berries same goes for the yellow ones.
There is a downside though most of my alpines don't produce runners & I was hoping to split a lot of these plants this year if I do it now i will probably lose the fruit as they will keep producing until late December there won't be a good time to do it.
