Fence Panels

When  fitting  6 ft x 6ft Interwoven Fencing Panels  am I right in saying, that you put the best side of panel on you garden side ( if its your fence ) and not your neighbours side ? ? Looked on Internet, its not mentioned ?
I know that, when your are doing an ARIS rail fence, best side is then on your neighbours side.
You views please  am I right ? ? ?

I wondered about this when i built my fence, but was told that the best side goes to your neighbours as you are blocking them out.

I didnt mind, less light pollution from security lights so i was happy  ;)
