Just thought I'd mention I've been seeing quite a few of these little red beetles in my garden (East London) this year ....... have found eight in the last ten days.     Hopefully have caught them before the egg laying stage......those slimy little larvae, yeuch!   Don't think I saw any last year, the lilies were all unmolested.

I have been very vigilant, studying my lilies every day Christina.  You can't afford to miss a day as the little blighters seem to multiply so quickly.  Luckily haven't found too many this year as I started searching early, but if you leave it too late - lacey lilies and black gunge everywhere >:(  Isn't nature wonderful :-\ :)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Hi,

I live in London and I have been squashing lilly beatles for about 4 weeks now  - they attack my plants every year but as long as I keep squashing they don't seem to get a hold.
