and carrot fly have two hatches May/June and August. However in warm springs/summers they can have 3 hatches. God knows what will happen this year with the strange weather

Here we go again!!

And here's more power to Glowy's bow......

Why can I not post this in readable form? It comes over this size whatever I choose.

glow777

try increasing the scan size to 200% of the original.

When you are looking at it before posting on your PC you may be looking at a zoomed in version -

or wherever you are loading the pictures to may be automatically resizing the images for you.

BTW never knew they'd go for celery and parsley. We have C Fly bad but they only go for carrots even if parsnips are close by

So far as I can see, it's A4A limiting the size?

Does this work??  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/photo04/veg/flyLarge.jpg

Yes!!

glow777

probably resizing because of the length have you thought about 1/2 ing and stitching ;)

Cat

Tim - love your no nonsense replies  ;)

I have coverd my containers with fleece and pegged the sides.

Is it right that the water should drain through the fleece?

Cat
Sometimes we just need a helping hand!

tim

One problem - a drizzle is just soaked up by the fleece, so keep an eye on it.

finchy

Silly question, but with the fleece, how do the seedlings grown and get light?

Do you raise it up on pegs?
To plant today is to not plant tomorrow!

wavy

Keep the fleece fairly loose.
You would be supprised how strong those little carrots are, they will push up the fleece.

tim

Light's no problem.

Grow? As said - allow an 8" or so 'tuck' all around. For brassica it has to be up to 4 FEET!!
