I was given some and put it on the compost heap as I think it is quite strong stuff

It`s OK in moderation-this guy on a lottie next to mine put loads in his heap and it smouldered for days-the stench was awful

can be put in a bucket and 'steeped' to make a feed, diluted..we've been told it's a good activator for a heap  :)

As its high in ammonia its good for the heap. The old fella next door used to put it on his onion bed after they were pulled for the following year. Some how or other he ended up with white rot  and could no longer grow onions.

I wouldn't let it near my veggies look what it does to your car paint, and it is very dangerous when it turns to powder form. :( :o ;D ;D ;D Thats my opion anyway. :-X

Pete the Chicken (my allotment neighbour) adds his bird's pooh to my compost heap.  I turn the heap over every month.  This autumn, I'll incorporate the compost during my autumn dig. I hope that the elements will have weathered out the ammonia.  Please do let me know if I'm mistaken!

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL as it can burn plants badly unless well rotted down (I learnt the hard way)
