Jeannine

I keep getting teased by friends, family and A4A about my seed collecting, and I can't be so bad I think. so come on fess up, who is the supreme addict and why do you think so.

Seed sale or shoe sale...which do you go too.
January sales, is your pop tent  set up on the pavement in December.
Are you hiding your stash from family.
Do you feel guilty when you leave the garden centre.
Are you forever taking out the packets and holding them
Have you got 3 or more online seed companies on your desk top
Have you got more than 6 in your favourites
Can you quote your Visa card number without looking
Do you admit to non gardening friends how many you have
Do you truthfully admit to gardening friends how many you have
Can you state with sincerity you are not addicted
Do you know anyone worse than yourself
Do you know without looking which veggie you have the most seeds of

Is there any thing else you would like taken into consideration at this time

Sussed!!!

I have a whole buscuit tin (a large one!) crammed to the top with seeds, most of which will take years for me to use since I downsized from lottie to a small garden patch.

I have 3 seed companies saved to favourites and can type my visa number without looking!

It's just impossible to come out of a garden centre without at least one packet, there is always something I really NEED!

YES! I do now! Now who was it who produced an indexed file of seeds whilst we were at Barnsdale....? Someone beginning with J......... ;D ;D ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

OliveOil

Love it jeannine - dont ahve a credit card but i know my debit card off by heart.

I have a large box that once belonged to a pair of oilily boots - then i have a large shoe box too!

I constantly change my seeds around... from categories such as 'brassicas, roots, etc' to sowing times - early spring, late spring etc.

Now i have a card organizer box which is beautiful!  It has index cards Jan - Dec plus a drawer at the bottom too keep labels and pens etc and maybe even a folded planting plan.  I aim to put seeds in for sowing at their earliest date month and just move them to the next month for successional sowing.  It is such a pretty box

If anyone wants a box let me know they are a tenner each... blatent shameless plug i know but this is part of my card business that i started and since OH left i need to sell some stock LOL

I have a shoe box full of flower seeds & a plastic container full of veg seeds. I don't have a problem with that so WHY should anyone else?

Guilty as charged.

And when I go abroad, difficult to bring back plants in a suitcase - but seeds, no problem.  Forget the souvenir shops, bring on the gardening shops.  Why are they so much better than ours?

Even the salesman on the Franchi stall recognised us at Birmingham last week.

Gutted I forgot to look for the Thomson and Morgan stall, they were all reduced to 50p last year.  I only hope they weren't there and I didn't just miss them.

Still haven't found my ideal way of storing and sorting them, at the moment crammed in a shoe box under the stairs where it is dark and cool.  I'm tempted by your box OliveOil.

I've got so many, I pinched one of ray's tool boxes and it's full  ;D

I thought I had lots of seeds, but there were only small amounts of many. After a busy spring of sowing, my stash is seriously depleted. I am trying to control my urge to go and buy, as I want to try to catch the Wyevale 25p a packet sale. I would kick myself if I had paid full price for something I could have got cheaper. How many packets do you think I could buy without getting funny looks from the cashier?

I'm definately going to overbuy any interesting varieties I find, so I can use them on the swapshop.

My wishlist grows longer and longer every time I get a new seed catalogue, although I dont think there is enough room for all the varieties that tempt me. And in all honesty, how many peppers and tomatoes can the average family eat? Still, its nice to give stuff away too.
