I have some lobelia growing in the garden and it is dying, under the trailing parts but on top of the soil is a white glue-like substance.... is this what is killing it and what can I do about it?

This sounds like slug trails as they to and fro to eat your lobelia

I'll bet you have slug pelets round them too???

I'll go for slugs - in my garden at home where they have died from the pellets they have for some reason this year left behind a white `snot` like substance!

Dont know why though!!!  :o

Tee Gee

The ingredients in slug pellets causes the slug to swell to bursting point the gunge is the slugs/snails innards!
