What can we plant now?

We have lost half of the allotment (Bye bye potatoes, beans, toms, peas and top soil!) in the flooding. :'(

The allotment is popping back up above water now.

If we should get the soil back to any kind of useful quality is there anything we could plant now? My grand plan for the year has been turned upside down! Confusion reigns (or should that be rains under the circumstances).

Any suggestions folks? :)

I am still sowing all salad produce - leaves and roots, peas, kohl rabi, french beans, turnips, carrots, spinach, oriental greens, mooli, sweetcorn and squashes.  All these can be sown directly and will get away quickly.

That's encouraging, EJ. You are a lot further south, of course, but anything's worth a try. I'm near you, Mouseki and although we haven't been flooded I think I'm going to have to start again with some things.

Cheers folks, hoping for a long summer to give new beans a chance!
