Is anyone here an identical twin?

If so, I was wondering whether you were dressed the same as children and if so, when that stopped?  And looking back, how did that affect you?

The reason I ask is because I saw a most bizarre sight coming home from work this evening.  There were two women in front of me who I'd guess were in there late 50's and they were identical twins.  But the thing was they were dressed in work attire and, you've guessed it , their clothes were identical.  They not only had the same clothes but even their shoes, handbags and shopping bags were identical.  They clearly were not off to a fancy dress party so what's that all about?

I regularly see a set of identical twins who are probably in their 40's. They are the most identical twins I have ever seen and they are always dressed the same, even down to their accessories. Expensive looking clothes as well - definitely not a work uniform!

I'm a twin, although not identical.  As children, we always had the same style dress, but in a different colour, same jumper, different colour etc.  We were always made to share as well.  The downside to this was that as soon as my sister and I were earning our own money, we went mad for clothes that we had chosen ourselves, just because we could.
Surely, it is not healthy for such mature twins to be still dressing the same, as a twin, you need to form your own identity, and be your own person.  When people ask me if my sister and I are alike, I always say 'God, no!'.

There are 2 sets of identical twins at our village school, one set are always identically dressed, except the hair is always different, and one pair are identical in every way, until they escape and dress themselves, then they do their own things.  Both sets of twins are sooooooo identical only their mates can tell the difference, even the teachers can't!

Our Cousin had identical twin girls.  They had their own language to each other.  They were dressed the same as little girls. When they grew up they tried not to dress the same but they liked the same clothes.  Even today in their 30s the two of them can buy the same things.  One bought a pr of earrings in Kirkcaldy and the other bought an identical pair in London.  Spooky.   The girls say this happens a lot though.  When one was in labour last year the other one living in Spain knew her sister was in labour before she heard on the phone.

one of our friends has identical twins - they are 12 years old and are generally dressed the same by their mother.  Occasionally when they get to dress themselves, they don't always choose to wear the same outfits.  Their hair is an identical style, but one tends to do more things, such as ponytails, plaits etc than the other, who generally wears it loose.  I think they'll become more individual as they grow older.
