last august was freezing, we had the HEATING on..
I know this because we flew out to greece on the 27th august for my son's wedding, before we went, it was soooo cold..
when we came back on september 5th, it was lovely and stayed like that for much of september..we went to cornwall the same time as we are going this year, it was brilliant...so, hope the same thing happens for the next two weeks  ;D

We've just been spoilt over the last decade or so.

This is true, Busby.  It just goes in cycles doesn't it?  When I was at school (I'm 40 now) summers were very tempremental - remember when the British summer was a long standing joke - famous for it's cloud and rain?  Winters were freezing - and they probably will be again (although I could do without that bit, lol) Isn't that the way it's supposed to work ?

It's really windy, grey and wet here in West Essex today.  I've put the heating on in my office (serves me right for coming to work in a t-shirt!)

On the plus side .... I see the weather is supposed to pick up nicely for everybody this coming weekend.  Best get all your summer activities ready to squeeze into 48hrs  ;D ;D

I was a kid in the 70s. without fail I used to have a nose bleed before a storm, and I remember having loads of them, so the summers must have been wet and stormy in the 70s too.

Cold n windy in East Sussex, even had to put a pair of socks on with my slippers! :o
Not been up the plot in what feels like weeks, just not inspired somehow.
Trixie..........thank you, put a right grin on my face! ;D ;D ;D
We don't inherit the earth, we only borrow it from our children.

Rain and heavy winds all day, probably the worst day of the year here, I'm not as old as Savageblue but maybe its me but all through the school holidays I can always remember it being hot, all six weeks out on my bike in T shirt and shorts, never went abroad always IOW or Jersey and don't remember any bad weather.  ;D ;D ;D

Still no sun here in March. Was dry earlier so thought I would pick the runners, by the time I had finished picking I was soaked once again.

Oiii!  I was 21 last birthday (+19)

Don't get me wrong, I do remember warm sunny days in the summer but Britain was never famous for it's good weather in peak times.  I remember the freak heatwave one year (1976?) which seemed like heaven at the time, LOL

It's still grey, wet and dull here but the forecast is looking promising for the weekend at least  ;D

Mrs Ava

It is dry, overcast, but warm and dry, so the children and I have been out the front.  Weeded the borders and am going to move a couple of overcrowded plants around. I know it is the wrong time, but with all the rain, I don't suppose the plants will even notice.  On metcheck, Chelmsford has all smiley sunny faces all day tomorrow.  You never know, my tomatoes might start to ripen!

Blazing hot Sun... blue skies... been out all morning, come in for some lunch to avoid the heat of the day and put some suncream on... no this is not a wind up!

Dull and dreary here but no rain today, the first time since Sunday, off to the lottie now to look at the weeds.  ;D ;D ;D    P.S  I went to Savageblues 50th.  ;D ;D ;D

Hooray!! The sun finally came through this afternoon, is now a lovely evening. Pulled some carrots, pulled a few baby beet which are now cooking. Promises to be a good weekend. Joshua has been away at Scouts camp all week and it has rained every day, unless it has been different in Essex where the camp is. (Thriftwood Activity Centre)
Hopefully will have a blitz on the weeds at weekend and as Emma said the tomatoes may ripen, haven't had any ripe ones since last weekend.
Enjoy your weekend peeps.
Lorna.

Mrs Ava

Ooo Lorna, I don't think that is far from me.  Well finally it looks like the sky is clearing.  Oh I hope so!

Hooray, 6.45pm and the suns come out, I've just come back from the lottie and picked the first lot of runners, (yes late I know), two small caulis, two small beetroots, a cabbage and some stored spuds, ooh and a handful of raspberry's. Also had first two tomato's out of the garden and yes E J they had actually ripened.  ;D ;D ;D
